What This Country Needs

Smaller government-The control of this country needs to be put back into the hands of the people.

Definition of morality-The boundaries of morality must be defined.

True freedom-Freedom must be available to every citizen, not members of certain groups. This includes freedom of religion and freedom of speech. Children who have birth defects don’t need to be candidates of abortion; children who are conceived as a result of rape also shouln’t be aborted since they are not responsible for the actions that led to their conception. Also, the elderly don’t need to be euthanised because they’ll become so-called burdens to society. Moreover, the press needs to give both the conservative and liberal sides of the issues, not just the favored side (liberals).

Fair taxation-The income tax and IRS need to be eliminated and the money put back into the hands of the people. Only a 10% consumer tax should be permitted.

Self support-People need to be free to choose their own healthcare without interference from the government.
The people’s money shouldn’t be taken from them to help those who may abuse the system.

Responsibility-No one needs to be made to help someone who is in dire situations due to irresponsible behavior. If a woman becomes pregnant because she engaged in pre-marital sex the father of the child should be responsible not only for the care of that child, but also for the mother as well. Abortion should be abolished as it is the murder of a child who was the result of irresponsible behavior.

Crime-Criminals need to be punished, period. They give up their rights when they commit their crimes. The punishment should fit the crime. Also, prison should be as uncomfortable as possible so it will serve as a deterrent to crime (chain gangs? tent cities?). Murderers should be executed, except in cases of accidental death or defensive homicide. Trials should be speedy and unbiased. For example, when a murderer is convicted, he shouldn’t sit in death row for twelve or twenty-four years before he is executed. Parole boards should be eliminated and criminals should serve out their entire sentences.

Enemies of the US-Enemies of this country should be treated as such. No deals should be cut with confirmed enemies of this country. Words are cheaper than dirt and these nations don’t want to discuss anything. They only want us to conform to their views while eliminating our way of life in this country.

Volunteering-Volunteering should be just that. No one should be coerced into servitude nor should it be a requirement for graduation or scholarships.

These are but a few of the standards we need to keep in this country. Certain groups shouldn’t be given special privileges for political reasons. For example, we shouldn’t outlaw the Bible in our public schools while allowing the teaching of evolution; we shouldn’t call criticism of certain groups “hate speech” while remaining silent on the criticism of other groups. Freedom should be open to everyone without infringing on the rights of others. If we want to express our opinions or beliefs, we should be able to do so without punitive repercussions, whether we agree with those expressions or not. We, as the citizens of the USA need to restore this country to its former glory.

I was born in Roanoke, VA on October 16, 1968. A few years later, my family settled in the Washington, DC area where I grew up. I graduated from Friendly Senior High School in 1986. I attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC as a geography major. Looking for a change of environment, I made Durham my permanent home in 1988. In October of 1986, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and began attending Mt Zion Christian Church. In 2003, I met a lovely young lady from Liberia named Autherine and we were married a year later. I believe in the deity of Jesus Christ and the inerrancy of God's Holy Word, the Bible. I follow a Christian/conservative worldview. I enjoy reading, writing, movies, badminton, football (Dolphins, baby!!!), bowling, board, video, and computer games, and traveling.
