Progressive Stupidity

As you can tell by the above picture, stupidity reigns among the ranks of the liberal/progressives. I found this bit of blasphemy online by accident and was somewhat taken aback by its claims, so I’ll deal with each one at a time.

Claim #1 – Jesus was a liberal

This claim is laughable because for the most part, the libs don’t want anything to do with Jesus. Would Jesus say children couldn’t say there grace over their lunches at school? Would Jesus encourage children to read Harry Potter and Daddy’s Roommate instead of His Word? Would Jesus tell us to separate our beliefs from politics? If Jesus were a liberal (as it is defined today), He would have to deny His very divinity and existence because modern day liberals want nothing to do with Jesus, even though many of them may go to church.

Claim #2 – Jesus had long hair and a beard

LOL! What does this have to do with anything? I know the traditional image of Jesus is a picture of Him with long, golden hair and a beard. However, the Bible fails to give a description of Jesus as such. Moreover, anyone who makes this claim can say the same for your average redneck, and many liberals claim that these folks are largely conservative.

Claim #3 – He did not work for a corporation

This is funny because there were no corporations during Jesus’ time. There were no Chariots ‘R’ Us or Middle East Temple Builders back then.

Claim #4 – He was undocumented

I don’t know where this claim comes from, because we all know Jesus was born in Bethlehem; that is documented.

Claim #5 – He hung out with criminals, whores, and other unsundry characters

Really? Jesus didn’t “hang out” with the ungodly, dancing in their clubs, drinking beer and cheap liquor, smoking, and flirting with the ladies. Jesus’ purpose was to save those that were lost which required him to go among the sinners to preach the Kingdom of God. Furthermore, the people he “hung out” with the most were His twelve disciples, who, even though some of them were ex-brawlers, ex-revilers, ex-thieves, and ex-tax collectors, He personally chose them to carry out His work.

Claim #6 – He believed we are all equal in the eyes of God

True. However, Jesus didn’t look the other way when it came to an individual’s sins. While He loved everyone, He still dealt with a person’s sin nature.

Claim #7 – He advocated giving away your personal belongings and paying your taxes

Jesus never forced anyone to give away their personal belongings or pay your taxes. Liberals like to make this claim because they believe if the government forces you to give what you own, that is charity. Jesus never went to the government for assistance because He knew to force someone to give up their personal belongings would defeat the purpose of charity. Charity is not forced; it comes from the heart. In other words, charity is voluntary, not compulsory. The philosophy of taking from the haves to give to the have-nots may have been good for Robin Hood but it was not advocated by Jesus. Taking from the rich to give to the poor is called stealing.

Claim #8 – He advocated social justice

This statement smacks of Marxism, socialism, and communism. Jesus did not condone redistribution of wealth in the name of “fairness”. He did not say the government was to intrude in every individual’s life. Moreover, he did not support affirmative action. What the liberals call “fair” today isn’t fair in the least sense of the word. Go to any country in which “social justice” is the norm and talk about Jesus; you will either be led to prison, tortured, or executed.

Claim #9 – He gave people hope instead of fear, He advocated change instead of the status quo

Are the liberals giving you hope instead of fear? Are they giving you hope when they tell you to sacrifice for the phantom events they have predicted such as man-made global warming, grandparents being forced to eat dog food, and conservatives wanting to dirty the water and the air? Are they giving you hope when they continue to raise your taxes so they can spend your hard-earned money on their pet projects? This is why we need Jesus because neither the liberals nor the conservatives can give us this hope.

Claim #10 – He preached peace instead of war

Peace is not a progressives’ idea. Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and John F Kennedy all sent America to war. Harry Truman made the decisions to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Moreover, let us not forget who was presiding in the White House when the incident that inspired the movie Black Hawk Down occurred (William J Clinton). Liberals like to make this claim to make the conservatives look like war-mongerers always spoiling for a fight when history says otherwise. To give the above-named democratic Presidents credit, they were right to send us to war. In Luke 22:36, Jesus makes this statement:

and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.”

A sword is a weapon that is used in war. I’ll let you think about that for a moment.

Claim #11 – He pissed off the local conservatives

What makes folks think the Pharisees, Sadducees, and scribes were conservatives? Oh, I get it – it’s because they were religious leaders, always trying to force their beliefs on every one. I don’t think people realize there are a lot more liberals that attend church than conservatives. You hear people talking about the “religious right”; well, there is something called the “religious left” as well. Go to your average black church and you will see what I am talking about. The vast majority of black churches voted for Barack Obama who happens to be a liberal.

Claim #12 – His philosophy was based in compassion, equality, inclusion, forgiveness, tolerance, peace, and-most importantly-love

All of which are hard to find in those of the liberal/progressive persuasion. When you reject Christianity or its principles, you are denying all of the above attributes of Jesus Christ.

So, was Jesus liberal or conservative? He was NEITHER, because HE IS GOD. He abides in the TRUTH and the truth is final! You cannot argue with the truth; you can only accept it or reject it. To debate whether Jesus was a liberal or a conservative is to lower Jesus to the standards of a mere human being which, I believe, is disrespectful to the LORD AND SAVIOR.

So, liberals, stop trying to make like Jesus is on your side because most of the time, you hate the very principles He stands for.

Have a good day and I’ll see you on the rebound.
