As of this writing, it has been nearly two weeks since Hurricane Sandy ripped through the Caribbean and the Northeastern US, leaving major destruction and misery in her wake. However, even though it has been 13 days since the misery began, there are many people who have yet to have their power restored. Add to that the severe inconvenience of a nor’easter that brought cold and snow to the New York/New Jersey area, and one can only imagine the turmoil that is wreaking havok in the area. There are reports of muggings, lootings, flared tempers, and people have taken to defending their property with baseball bats and bows and arrows.
Let us now go back in time to 1992. A vicious storm by the name of Andrew ripped through southern Florida and the Gulf of Mexico and became the costliest natural disaster in the US up to that time. The scale of horror and human suffering was incredible as a shocked nation gasped at the scene of horrific tragedy. However, not long afterwards, there arose murmurings that the then POTUS (George Bush 41) was dragging his feet in delivering much needed help to the area in a speedy fashion. So intense was the displeasure at his actions that it may have cost him a shot at reelection later that year.
Now , let us fast forward 13 years later, to the year 2005. A storm of demonic proportions slammed into the Gulf Coast, most notably, the city of New Orleans, and left behind a wake of destruction few have witnessed in the US. Then POTUS, George Bush 43, received a lot of the blame for not sending relief fast enough (one Kanye West even made the erroneous claim that Pres. Bush hates blacks people).
Now, we have a storm (quite possibly the costliest in US history) that has left behind the unsurprising mass of destruction and misery in its wake and our present POTUS(Barack Obama) is once again taking the brunt of the blame. Oh, wait, that’s not correct, because it seems that Mr Obama has managed to escape any accusations of not sending help fast enough. Government red tape has turned this situation into a big , sticky mess, as there are reports of helpers being turned away because they are not members of the unions. Are you serious? Not long after the storm had passed, the great Pharoah (Obama) could be seen with the butt-kissing governor of New Jersey who said he didn’t give a Grand Coulee about the upcoming election (as of this post, Mr Obama has won reelection). However, the mainstream media (MSM) and the general public seem strangely silent about placing the blame on Mr Obama. I wonder why? Hmmm…
I have the answer: It is because the MSM and the general public hated the Bushes while they have nothing but praise for Obama. In their eyes, anyone who is a conservative/Republican can do no right and the liberals/Democrats can do no wrong.
Let me finish by summing it all up this way: If you are a liberal Democrat you are prejudiced against anyone who doesn’t think like you. Period!
You all have a good day and I’ll see you on the rebound.
